Honeymoon Honeymoon Package Honeymoon

So the wedding is all organised, and now you're just left with the honeymoon planning. Welcome to planet confusion! If, like most couples, you are just overwhelmed with choice and don't have a clue how you are going to narrow down your million and one preferred honeymoon locations to just one, then you're going to have to make sure you put as much effort into your planning as you do into the honeymoon itself!

When to Begin?

Bare in mind that it is never too soon to start planning your honeymoon! If you are after a very specific honeymoon package, then your planning really cannot begin soon enough. Location aside, there is a whole host of things you need to consider that you probably won't even think about until you become embroiled in the whole planning stage!

Paradise Islands!

Deciding on where to go is only the start of your problems! Once you have narrowed down your location choices, you then have to decide how you are going to get there, whether you are going to go through a travel agent or plan your own bespoke honeymoon package, how long you're going to stay for, and if you are going to opt for a specific type of honeymoon, like an all inclusive, a fly drive or a cruise.

It is essential that you take time out to really plan your honeymoon thoroughly and make sure you are both on the same save length with what sort of break you want! Lists and notes will be your best friends when you're brainstorming and considering your options, so jot ideas down as you go along to avoid losing web addresses, resort names and likely-sounding travel companies at a later date!

Making Lists...and More Lists!

If you are really organised you can swap your notepad for a whizzy all singing all dancing spreadsheet on which to assimilate all your honeymoon ideas and info - create different worksheet or tables within the document to detail and cross reference what the different holidays you come across have to offer.

Romantic Research

Make the internet and the local library your first ports of call when researching your chosen destination - but don't rely solely on one resource to paint an accurate picture of your short listed destination - compare websites with guide books, guide books with online travel reviews sites and make your decision based on informed choice rather than seductive home pages!

If in Doubt, Delegate...

If you are keen to leave all the hard work up to a travel agent and have them come up with ideas for destinations and honeymoon packages, then operate in the same way that you would if you were inviting a tradesman to do work for you: ask around for recommendations and seek out more than one quote. And don't be taken in by apparent 'upgrades' and freebies - most travel companies offer special packages for honeymooners, so shop around and make sure your agent is giving you the very best deal possible - something you can probably only get a handle on by visiting several and seeing who comes up trumps!
