What Kind Of Honeymooner Are You?

What kind of honeymooner are you? Find out if you’re beach bound together, or destined for separate cities with our tongue-in-cheek honeymoon questionnaire.

Adventures Ahead

Do you like nothing better than trying something new, somewhere you’ve never been? Is your ideal holiday an adrenaline-fuelled rush that means you’ll never even see the swimming pool? Do you appear as a mere blur in all your holiday photos?

If you’re happiest when your comfort zone is nothing more than a distant speck, and you’ve been known to arrive home from a holiday more exhausted than when you left, we’ve got the honeymoon for you. From watersports to horse riding, learning to cook or learning to dive, an all inclusive active break will satisfy your sense of adventure by combining an array of exhilarating activities at little or no extra cost. If you fancy diving, why not investigate Egypt or the Indian Ocean? For culinary cool, try Thailand or the Caribbean. Avoid an adventure of the costly kind – check your travel insurance will cover you for the activities you have in mind.

Laid Back Luxury

Is your idea of a honeymoon a romantic, couples only, cocktails by the pool kind of break? Do you need a separate suitcase for your stylish swimwear? Is your idea of active walking from your room to the restaurant?

If you holiday with a stack of trashy novels so high they almost block out the sun, a luxury beach break is the honeymoon for you. You want a roller-skating waiter to deliver your cocktails and fresh flowers on your bed. In short, you want it all. High maintenance honeymooning is the speciality of Mauritius, the Maldives and just about anywhere else where the view from your water villa is of uninterrupted paradise. Couples only resorts are the ultimate in peace, tranquillity and luxury, where no desire goes unfulfilled. The biggest decision you’ll have to make all fortnight is which bikini to wear, not that you have any intention of getting it wet.

Busy Bee

Admit it - you’ve already packed, haven’t you? You’ve made a list of things you want to do and what’s more, it’s colour-coded. Do you live life at break-neck speed, exhausting those around you with your efficiency?

Your idea of the perfect honeymoon is packing in as much as possible, from sights seeing to shopping, all of it on sensibly-shod foot, bum bag on and map in hand. While some may envy your boundless energy and rigorous organisation, others lay scattered and broken in your wake. For you we prescribe a city-based honeymoon, perhaps New York or Rome, where the sights rub shoulders with some of the finest shopping in the world. March your partner up the Spanish Steps, do laps of Bloomingdale’s, and if your itinerary permits, stop for gelato or a hot dog. A city-based honeymoon will tick another ‘to do’ off your list you’ll be cataloguing the holiday snaps for months to come.

Culture Vulture

Do you have a thirst for knowledge? Are you a fountain of historical facts? Bought the guide book already?

If you’re the person everyone wants on their team at a pub quiz, then a culture-filled honeymoon has your name on it. You’re the one who pays extra for the fancy audio headset at the Coliseum, and you’ve made a list of museums to visit before you die. For you a honeymoon just wouldn’t be a holiday without enriching your education, and you don’t care what the weather’s doing, because you’re likely to be inside inspecting something very old. Your ultimate nightmare is Las Vegas. The Guggenheim, an ancient lost city, an eerie Egyptian tomb – where there’s history, there’s a mystery waiting to be explored.
