If you want your honeymoon trip to take in as many glamorous, vibrant cities as your itinerary allows, or you are choosing to forgo azure seas and white sands in favour of a full on city break holiday, then you are truly spoiled for choice in terms of destinations, attractions and activities.
Cities offer that special something that you just can't get on any other type of trip - an eclectic mix of non stop action in terms of night-life and tourist attractions, combined with chilling and down time in chic city spas and luxe hotel treatment rooms! From London to Paris, New York to Prague, there are some great international and European city breaks to be had!
City breaks are not for everyone - some honeymooning couples would not find the thought of a fast paced, busy break appealing, but others will enjoy the frenetic nature of city life, and the shops, bars, nightclubs and restaurants most cities have to offer.
Honeymoon Closer to Home
When planning your honeymoon, bear in mind that with a city break you do not necessarily have to travel long haul - thanks to excellent rail and road connections, low cost airlines and regional airports flying direct to many major cities, a city break could be literally on your doorstep!
Many tour operators specialise in European city breaks - look out for great deals on Eurostar packages to some fab Euro destinations like Paris and Brussels. Or take your car on Eurotunnel and find your own romantic city hideaway - Lille, Nantes and Reims offer wonderfully romantic city backdrops all within an easy drive from the Eurotunnel at Calais.
City breaks don't have to just be about bustling towns - how about considering the glizty millionaires paradise of Marbella, or the sunshine and white sands of Dubai for your honeymoon?
Milan is a hugely popular honeymoon destination, and a great city break location - fashionable boutiques, fantastic architecture combined with an overwhelming sense of history and glamour. As Italy's second largest city, you will not be short of things to see and do - one of the biggest cathedrals in the world, Duomo, is a real crowd puller, and visitors flock to see Leonardo da Vinci's 'Last Supper', at Santa Maria delle Grazie (this attraction is so popular it is imperative you book in advance to see it).
For a truly romantic city, Prague takes a lot of beating! Its stunning architecture is a sight to behold, and its cobbled Medieval streets make a wonderful backdrop for your photographs and camcorder footage! Prague Castle is a must see attraction, as is the popular toy museum and Rudolf Gallery.
The Medieval city of Bruges provides a romantic backdrop to your trip courtesy of its beautiful architecture, narrow winding cobbled streets and majestic squares. Take a horse and carriage ride around its historical streets, or meander your way around its network of canals and waterways! And when you're finished with sightseeing, treat yourself in its vast range of shops and boutiques!
